D.A.N.E.T.

The Ross Township Police Department participates in the District Attorney's Narcotic Enforcement Team. All narcotic related investigations, unless otherwise approved by the Chief of Police, are conducted through DANET and managed by the Detective Division. There are currently 11 officers assigned to work these cases, in addition to their regular police duties.

We work closely with detectives from the District Attorney's Office, other DANET members and Troopers from the Pennsylvania State Police Bureau of Drug Law Enforcement. This additional "man power" is essential to our investigative efforts.

The resources provided by District Attorney Stephen A. Zappala Jr's office enables us to more effectively combat the current drug problem. Primarily the District Attorney's Office provides funding, personnel, and the authority to extend enforcement/investigative efforts beyond the boundaries of Ross Township.

The average citizen of Ross Township should appreciate our department’s involvement in DANET because; costs stemming from investigations are mostly paid for by the District Attorney’s Office. Furthermore the majority of our community's "drug problem" originates outside of Ross Township.
