
Ptl Syska joined the Ross Police Dept in June of 2005. Prior to joining Ross ptl. Syska worked for the University of Pittsburgh Police Department, and served as a firefighter/paramedic with the City of Duquesne, and as a flight paramedic.
Ptl. Syska resides in the south hills with his wife and 2 daughters. He is active with the West Homestead Fire Rescue Company as a firefighter/rescue specialist. He additionally serves as a bagpiper with both the Pittsburgh Police Emerald Society Pipes and Drums division, and the Western Pennsylvania Firefighters Memorial Honor Guard Pipes and Drums. Jason graduated from Woodland Hills High School in 1994 and attended Point Park University where he earned a Master's Degree in 2004. Jason serves as an adjunct instructor at various local colleges including CCAC and PTI. In his spare time Jason enjoys playing the bagpipes, playing ice hockey, and spending time with his family.
