Patrolman Serowik was raised in Mt Lebanon, P.A. where he graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School in 1988. While in high school, Ptlm. Serowik received a varsity letter for competitive rifle shooting, was a member of the drum line, was president of the Military Careers Club, and member of the Honor Roll.

Also while in high school, Patrolman Serowik enlisted in the United States Navy Reserves as a Hospital Corpsman and received a scholarship to study Bio-Medical Engineering at Penn State University. Upon completion of this degree, Ptlm. Serowik returned to Penn State University and completed his second degree in Administration of Justice, making the Dean’s List.

While in the United States Navy Reserves, HM-3 Serowik was assigned to the Fleet Hospital Unit in Altoona, PA. Upon the de-activation of the Altoona Naval Reserve Center, Ptlm. Serowik was transferred to the Naval and Marine Corps Reserve Center in Ebensburg, PA. to served as Leading Petty Officer for the Medical Support Team of 2nd Platoon Truck Company (USMC-R).

After serving honorably for 10 years, Patrolman Serowik left the United States Navy Reserves and obtained a Direct Commission as a 2LT, Medical Service Officer, in the PA Army National Guard where he was assigned a Ambulance Platoon Leader for Company C (Medical) 128th Support Bn (Forward). Ptlm. Serowik also held the duty positions of Medical Operations Officer, Acting Intelligence and Operations Officer (S2/3), Range Master and Weapons Training Officer for the Battalion, and Acting Company Commander for Company C (Medical) 128th Support Bn (Forward).

Patrolman Serowik is currently holds the rank of Captain and is Company Commander of Company A (Supply) 128th Support Bn (Forward), located at the Kreiss Armory in Butler, PA.

Patrolman Serowik’s military education include, Basic Training (USN), Basic Seaman Skills (USN), Field Medical Assistant (USMC), U.S. Army Medical Department’s Officer Basic Course (USA), Battle Command and Battle Staff Training (USA), U.S. Army Medical Department’s Officer Advance Course (USA), Commander’s Safety Course (USA), and Anti-Terrorism Awareness Level 1 (Department Of Defense).

Patrolman Serowik’s military awards consist of the U.S. Army Achievement Medal (X2), the U.S. Army Service Ribbon, the National Defense Medal (X2), the U.S. Naval Reserve Medal, and the General Stewart Medal.


Prior to becoming a Ross Police Officer, Patrolman Serowik spent 8 years as a Police officer for Bellevue Borough Police Department as a Patrol Officer. While at Bellevue, Ptlm. Serowik, acquired invaluable experience, which has been the foundation to his ongoing success in the Law Enforcement field. Because of this success, Ptlm. Serowik also received numerous Letters of Thanks from the residents that he served as well as several commendations from the Borough Management and Chief of Police.
